Biography
Kristina Ingate is the former Institute Secretary for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the leading professional institute for human resource management in the UK and Ireland. She was responsible for its corporate governance and legal affairs, and also for its national network of 48 volunteer-run branches providing learning and development activities. Holding a director-level role and a member of the senior management team she had a shared responsibility for CIPD's strategic planning, direction and operational effectiveness on a cross- institute basis.
Kristina has previously held the chief operating officer role of Diocesan Secretary in the Diocese of Guildford (covering Surrey) and Head of Resourcing (Local Management and Personnel) for Southwark Education. Her experience includes senior roles in Further and Higher Education.
She has served on a number of national working groups and stakeholder bodies including on the implementation of the 1993 Charities Act in the Church of England (14,000 charities) and as Chairman of the UK Interprofessional Group (UKIPG) Corporate Governance Working group.
Kristina serves as a charity trustee and holds other voluntary appointments. She has a special interest in: risk governance and subsidiaries; the role of the professions: the role of non-executive directors in different organisations; governance of subsidiaries in group structures and comparative corporate governance internationally.
Kristina is a chartered secretary (qualified company secretary) and holds a MSc in Corporate Governance and Business Ethics, management and marketing qualifications, together with membership of various professional institutes.
